Have you read The Smartest Kids in The World - And How They Got That Way? Want to use it in your class or book group? I have provided some activities on how to use Amanda Ripley's book in academic and thought provoking ways.
Debate/ research project - The teacher divides the class into four different groups - America, Finland, Poland, and South Korea. Each group defends why their education system is best.
PISA - Have each student take the practice PISA test to get an idea what the test is like.
Questions - Have each student make their own reading check. Once they all have one, pair each student up and have each set of partners take each others test.
